This one-of-a-kind converted barn is conveniently located between Woodstock and Phoenicia, 2 hours north of NYC. With four bedrooms and three full bathrooms the house sleeps up to 6 people and is ideally suited for families, with a maximum of two couples (plus kids).
Old & new seamlessly converge in the design of this home.
The spacious, open floor plan on the first floor features a Great Room with soaring, 29 foot ceilings & twig chandeliers. Gaze up at the exposed, hand-hewn, 19th century beams... watch a movie on the large flat screen TV... get cozy in front of the gigantic, antique blue stone fireplace.
Tastefully decorated with fine antique & modern furnishings and original artwork throughout this home is memorable and unique.
The fully equipped, chef's kitchen includes a Viking professional range, double Dacor ovens, a dishwasher, stainless steel refrigerator/freezer, and a palatial kitchen island with soapstone top. An oversized, mahogany dining table seats 6. For cooking enthusiasts-- you will find all kinds of cookware, serving dishes, cocktail glasses and wine stemware... Outdoors there is a large, Weber gas grill (propane provided) and a Weber charcoal grill (bring your own briquettes). There is ample outdoor dining spaces-- a picnic table in the screened porch, a teak table on the streamside deck, and a large, round concrete table with sun umbrella poolside, overlooking the gardens.
We are well prepared for executives working from home, and/or kids doing remote learning. We have Spectrum's Ultra fast internet package and three Orbis to strengthen the signal throughout the home. The den on the first floor (located behind the dining area) has a full sized desk with an ergonomic, adjustable chair and a newly purchased Canon laser printer and a smart TV. We have a landline which can be used from this area as well. Privacy blinds have been installed on these windows.
The huge farmhouse table in the living room can double as a workstation and the twin bedroom on the first floor has a small desk.
The fully private grounds are beautifully landscaped with mature trees, ornamental shrubs, and perennial flowers. There are ample outdoor entertaining spaces. Dine al fresco on the deck or in the spacious screened-in porch. Relax on a poolside lounger surrounded by manicured gardens. Take a dip in the heated pool.

Summary: Our family had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend here. We’ve stayed in many places and this was on of the coolest and best. Amazing great room and fireplace. Wonderful open kitchen with everything you could need. Can’t wait to come back.

Summary: This house is really as incredible as it looks in the photos and I highly recommend it. We loved the quirky character and unique details of the conversion. It feels like a mountain lodge but also very luxurious at the same time...which is exactly what we were looking for. We also really enjoyed the grounds and walking along the lovely stream that runs alongside the property. The location is great, though it can be a little tricky to find the house! (A sign/house number on the road would help visitors locate it.) Overall, we LOVED it and will definitely be back!

Summary: This was the fourth house that we stayed at on VRBO. It was perhaps one of the best. It was exactly what we needed. A beautiful, peaceful retreat close to a small town. The heated pool was awesome. The size of the kitchen was perfect for cooking big meals --- everyone had space to pitch in. The size of the den area was great for everyone to relax in. The master bedroom area was gorgeous. We loved all the details of the stained glass windows and the rustic feel of the house. Would definitely love to come back for another visit.

Summary: The house was gorgeous. Unique and beautiful. The kitchen was a dream and the sitting areas were cozy and comfortable. Everything from the beds to the bathrooms was stellar. Truly, the photos don't do justice to this wonderful house. We escaped to upstate NY for a weekend retreat for our company. There were four of us, and it worked out perfectly. We took a tranquil little hike up the hill in the backyard along the stream and amongst the deer. Its also a short 10 minute drive to charming downtown Woodstock. Plus, the property manager Liz was so accommodating and helpful. She took photographs for us of all the spices in the kitchen so we knew what we didn't have to buy, and she made sure that all the bathrooms had soaps and shampoos and plenty of fresh towels. I highly, highly recommend!

Summary: Highly recommend this property. The house and grounds are gorgeous and location is perfect - about a 10 minute drive into the town of woodstock (it might actually be less - there were just some road closures during our stay). Worth every penny!

Summary: We had the most lovely time at this perfectly appointed home. It was clean and well stocked (anything one might need for a short or long stay). The pool, outdoor space and grounds were tops! You want every day to be a pool day here. Hiking is just beyond the pool. If you love architecture, home decor, great spaces, this place for you. The discovery of perfect, interesting choices and appointments were endless. We didn’t need much help on the ground, but has the sense the caretakers would have quickly responded to any inquiry. Summary: The home is lovely and very tastefully decorated. It is set back off the road in its own private world and surrounded by lots of green lawn and open space. The pool is wonderful and well heated so you can spend lots of time in the pool without getting cold. Our grandkids loved it. A peaceful stream runs through the property. The home is a large converted barn providing lots of interesting architectural features. We loved the big family kitchen that was well supplied with everything. The barbecue outside is very nice. There was a fire pit to make s'mores. The property manager is fabulous and throughly showed us everything about the property and was available if we needed anything.
